well there's a new way that teachers can get me back on how well they're reaching their student when they're making the greatest impact changing the classroom chemistry teacher why is a Batman sets up her iPhone to record her classroom instruction a teaching coach will watch the video and give her feedback a process that can take hours to teachers so I can work with out of the whole group of seven so if I can I'm not two more teachers though it'll be better coaching or more teachers at a faster Pace will soon be a possibility at the urban assembly a network of 23 public schools in New York City the agency is working with the American Institutes of research bring a knife into the classroom to watch the videos analyze them and help coaches quickly find what worked during that lesson plan on getting more feedback two more teachers will that happen to watch me two or three hours of video in the back of a classroom recording then teach a coach would watch this looking for moments where students were most engaged with construction the American Institutes of research is working on an algorithm that will capture what teachers are doing and saying and categorize effective moments to make it easier for coaches Define interaction with a coach and the teacher looking at those pizza video it's kind of like when the foot when football watches for this past or that fumble we want to see how you can make that connection. It better and we the same thing education is about looking for key elements to leverage up the most growth in schools later this year it's paid for through grant funding and the expectation is using a a i to allow for consistent coaching that focuses on reaffirming and support of feedback will improve teacher outcomes I feel like it just opens up a lot of opportunities Ashley Rodriguez
