UAI's Equity Team
The UAI Equity Team is working to address the inequities and disparities amongst student achievement and foster a safe learning environment and school culture for students and staff. The team is comprised of teachers, students, and families and researches and reflects upon school policies and procedures that create disproportionality. It serves as space for the school to continue the work of confronting our biases related to race, class, gender, sexual orientation, and religion.
The goal of UAI's Equity Team is working towards adaptive change to address the issues of disproportionality and eliminate disparities and inequities in student achievement. Currently, we are analyzing student achievement data (GPA and standardized test scores) and the UAI grading policy to determine possible revisions and/or identify new policies/practices that will better support the success of all students at UAI.
