we are a really special school we are a small community we have 475 students and what that means we get to know all of our children and their families really well we believe in building and empowering young women to a strong Community a rigorous education and stem and also bill strong foundational skills and social emotional learning through all of these it is really rooted in the relationship between our families and our community our teachers and students and our counselors and everyone that circles around each of our individual children to make them stay smart and wonderful and whatever it is because I had to do we believe that our students should develop the critical thinking skills to be able to understand what's happening in the world and then take action to advocate for themselves and their kin so how we try and Foster that with our students is by creating a social studies curriculum that includes students real live experiences and connects that if it's the Oracle of do we have a unique experience Spirit you AI that many other high schools do not offer we have individualized counseling for our senior cohort when it comes to the admission process but we also begin I'll post secondary price as early as nice grave specifically we completely revamped our US History curriculum to Center voices that are often forgotten so we created an African history course that starts all the way back in ancient civilizations and goes up until the climate crisis happening today we do fun awards ceremony is out with our families we have seen daylight culture day Black History Month we have parties in our cafeteria every day we want to walk in with a smile and excited about what the head of them and obviously one way to do that be on his having a great staff and experience is creating a culture of joy and family we have an advisory structure where every staff member has a kick out of students who they work with all year long so our children are known really well and they are loved as a school for young women focused on math and science Equity is native to our mission and Who We Are we heard our young women to stand up and develop their own core voice in and set up for themselves and issues that they're going to encounter after they graduate and leave us that's what true empowerment is that's what we really believe here and that's a penalty for all of our young students graduating from you
